Congrats all! It's awesome to see so many entries exploding on the forum! Looking forward to checking it all out after the dust settles!
A few things to make your entry extra awesome: 1. Build for as many platforms as you can! If you use Unity, even if you're not on a Mac you can build for Mac! This will help you get your game playable by more people! 2. Pictures! You don't have to flood your thread with 20 pics, but a couple good ones really help everyone get a feel for your game. Animated gif = bonus. 3. The simplest on-screen control scheme prompt helps a lot! "Space = jump" in a corner of your screen helps!
Just a lil shout-out to my fellow contestants. (Sorry if I missed anyone, PM me) 2018 was massive! +-46 entries? So much talent, totally humbled. Congrats and well done all! Not an official list and in no particular order:
So since I couldn't make the jam, do we play, rate and comment on games like with LD?
You are more than welcome to also join in on playing and giving free back! The only difference to LD us there isn't a numerical rating system, but everyone would love feedback on their game!
Reminder: submit your jam games to Playtopia! The deadline for submissions is 30 Sept, which is very soon: https://www.playtopia.co.za/game-submissions (if you're not sure if your game qualifies, submit it and have them decide!)
Thank you so much for all the hard (and amazing!) work you all did this last weekend. We feel like the jam was great success!
Just a reminder that all your feedback on other entries need to be done by this Sunday evening. Some things to remember:
1) Your team collectively need to give feedback on at least 5 other entries to be eligible for any of the prizes. 2) Please list all team members on your entry post, so that we know which entries your team has given feedback on. 3) If you need some advice about feedback, here's a video where Evan and Jonathan chatted about it: https://youtu.be/WVkodh5OZ2s
We have another favour to ask: we shot some video at the Cape Town venue over the weekend, but we want the final edit to be properly representative of all of us. What we would like to do is either do Skype call with you, or have you send through a short (like 60 seconds) selfie video where you tell us about your experiences.
If you are interested, please send us a message, and we'll get back to you with the details!
(Sorry about the late reply @cloudyboxscape ... We check the accounts of all the members listed in the game thread for their feedback. So long as that person is listed on the game's thread it'll count)
