I see... Well, that's still not better, still screws with the logo's design and integrity.
Again, if everyone's *desperate* for a black tee, having it as regular red on black is fine. I'd *much* rather that than changing the colour configuration.

I agree with that messing with the design. And I hear you about white and red being the CID colours. But... after the logo made a reappearance at the top of the site, I must say I think that the red logo on the bluish-charcoal background actually looks pretty nice. Perhaps then with the text in white?
Ok guys. Aside from damousey who I asked about the logo. Can we please refrain from talking about the logo as it's going quite off topic from what this thread is about. If you want you can go and make another thread and talk about the logo there.
@tuism.. You seem quite defensive about this. Sorry if my suggestion offended you.
It's not "being defensive", nor was I "offended". It's simply brand integrity best practice. If I went and told people how to code in a way you *know* to be wrong, you'd probably say "no, rather not do that, that's not cool".
And when it comes to a brand, it's not about what "looks nice" - if you ask 50 people you'll get 100 opinions on what looks nice, anyway. It's about brand integrity.
Anyway, I said, if people are desperate to have it on black, go ahead and put it on black. Just don't mess with the logo recognisability :)
OK I'm done here, let's take it to another thread if there's any other concerns re: design.
Ok. The voting has come down rather consistently for the red T-shirts. And so the masses have spoken.
If anyone else also wants to get in on the T-shirt buying post in the thread or drop me a PM.
If you really don't want red MGSA T-shirts and have already said you wanted one when I said they would be white, let me know to remove you from the list.
I honestly don't understand what these shirts are for. I had assumed they were a uniform to showcase MGSA in places - that's why the white shirt with the unchanged logo made the most sense: If I'm going to be wearing an MGSA shirt onstage during my GDC talk, I want it to be the one that represents the site faithfully.
If it's just cool shirt that happens to be MGSA-adjacent for fashion purposes, then why not just have a competition for what could go on the shirt and end up with something way cooler than the logo forced onto a background it's not designed for?
So @dislekcia has a really good point to this which I went and did some thinking about.
Originally I wanted to do a reprint of the initial white T-shirt. In part I thought this was cool because it would give the guys going to GDC some T-shirts to wear and represent MGSA. Same goes for things like A Maze, Super Friendship Arcade, indoor soccer games, monthly meetups and everything else.
I like idea of doing a red T-shirt, but as dis said, if we are going off book why not go completely off book and try and find some really cool design to print up? So I'll make a thread where we can submit designs for tshirts and such.
Right now we will be printing white T-shirts with the MGSA logo as these are representational of MGSA and our standard presentation. The reason why I'm hard-lining that it's what we are doing right now is because we need to get the T-shirts printed and to the guys by the time GDC starts (which is in 6 weeks, and some of us are leaving earlier to go to other events)
So I am sorry about getting you guys excited about the red T-shirts, but hopefully we will come up with an even cooler design for those custom T-shirts ;)
Could we get actual measurements instead of just generic man sizes? A half inch different can make or break whether a man shaped shirt works with these boobs.
Feeling kinda tempted right now to just get my own printed rather than cause more hassle.
Being a bit of a t-shirt nerd, what are the sizes gonna be based on? This year's rAge tee M was the right size for me, the year before that's M was too big for me. Sooooo...
Can we get a handle on which tees we're printing on, and from that I can get the chest size and work out which size we want?
@damousey and @Tuism, gah totally should have thought of that. Will see what the sizes are in inches instead of genero-man-letters. Don't worry about it being a hassle it's something I really should have thought of ahead of time!
Ok I have some sizes. Also found out that the T-shirts being used for printing are the same kind as the plain T-shirt I wear. They are a pretty generous cut (my large is about 2cm bigger than the sizes I have) and is a rather loose fit.
S - 97cm M - 102cm L - 107cm XL - 112cm 2XL - 117cm 3XL - 122cm
Edit: Also price wise we are looking at R160 a T-shirt and an extra R15 for the printing of the name on the back. Do keep in mind these are estimates and I'll only have final prices once I know how many T-shirts we are ordering.
Thank you Karuji, and an extra R15 (estimated) definitely sounds reasonable for the handles - MGSA Soccer guys take note, this would help make it look more like a uniform (and also helps with calling out passes for folks who otherwise tend to forget names)
Do you by any chance know if these sizes are the same as the rAge shirt from last year?
These are quite a bit larger than the rAge T-shirts from last year. The rAge stuff was printed on old stock that the printers had immediately on hand since they got all the printing done in a day.
Since we're not in an epic rush they're getting better T-shirts and I'm learning some new things about T-shirt printing that I didn't really have time to care about last time ;)
Edit: Just measured a large from rAge. It's 100cm, so smaller than the mediums we're getting now.
So going on what @Tuism said: if you want to order a T-shirt you'll need to fill out the form if you post in the thread or PM me I'll just be adding it to the form myself.
I'm using the form as a central point as it was only put up after the T-shirt design was finalized. This means that I can be sure that the people on the doc (via the form) know what the are getting.
If your unsure. We are going with a white T-shirt with the MGSA logo and url on it as shown in the first post.
Ok. I'm going to be closing the T-shirt orders on Sunday at 23:59 and then sending the numbers to the printers for final prices so we can get this all printed.
So if you want a T-shirt: please fill out the form
Hey everyone, we've received the invoice and I'm ready to receive your money!
We've had a slight windfall with the supplier and we haven't been charged for the personalisation print on the back of the t-shirt. It's just hard luck for those who didn't order it this round.
