  • Hi there and welcome!

According to the forum rules, job postings need to include more information than you've provided:
    - A job must be posted by the company offering the position/contract and the company must be clearly identifiable.
    - The position must be clearly stated as a game development position/contract.
    - The job post must contain a description of the skills/qualifications required, an indication of payment/budget/salary, expected timeframe for the job and a job description that clearly communicates job responsibilities.
    - The job post may not be solicitation for spec work or in the form of a competition reward.

Noted and updated - please confirm all is in order, thanks!
    Kind regards
    Lynn
  • You still haven't explicitly stated that it is a game-development position in any of your job ads but a quick look around online seems to indicate that you are a poker company?

This is correct. I used to work for them when I just started my career. Used to be in Faerie Glen. Also has links to a company called Kaizania if I recall correctly. Definitely online gambling, but not just Poker. Slots / table games as well
  • afaik, the point of having the job posting rules, specifically the first one: "A job must be posted by the company offering the position/contract", is to avoid the forum being flooded with recruiters. Recruiters usually avoid naming the company because they want applications to go through them so that they can earn commission.

And the idea's that we should discourage posts from people who're in essence being paid to post ads.

Playsafe is not a gambling company, it was many years ago in Pretoria - but it changed to software development for gaming companies when they moved to Cape Town many years ago.
I also worked for them and I know that they do not have any poker/casino brands themselves - that division was sold off a long time ago.
I have updated everything according to Francois's request, so as far as I am concerned, everything is fine, otherwise he would have asked me to adjust again.

    Thanks for clarifying.
Could you explain what "software development for gaming companies" means for interest sake?
Do you make games? Or do you outsource development for companies that make games?

Do you have a website? Thanks!

Reason I ask is because of this line from your other post:
The company develops and maintains software for customers in the online casino and lottery industries.

You haven't because you are being abstruse about whether this is a game development position/contract. Francois is not the boss of the boards and these are the rules that we all abide by. Your job ad posting is so obscure that it's interchangeable for a project to make a car ad or a pilot episode for a TV show or a thousand other things. "Software development for gaming companies" also provides no clarity because it could mean a payroll system or a payment gateway or an avatar picker or, again, a thousand other things.

Hey this is a position for a game job. I applied to the company and they never mentioned anything about gambling or IT.
  • I would really like to see some examples of what work they are delivering/expecting to be delivered. Company portfolio would be ideal but I'm cool with anything really :)
