We are running a community poll for merger of our two organizations...Just a work-shopping exercise...

It is only fair that you guys also get to vote...

Otherwise, I have put forth another address to the SA National Community:

  • I just read that article and it seems you keep missing the point. No one is really against having two separate organizations but the biggest issue is how you run your organization. If you listen to all the feedback and criticism everyone is giving you then your organization would be so much better but you keep seeing it as attacks.

@Zaphire To be fair to @Julian, there was some criticism thrown at ZAGD regarding the idea that a separate community fractures and isolates parts of the entire community, which would have been reasonable for @Julian to view as members of MGSA arguing that ZAGD shouldn't exist because of MGSA's existence.

For all we know members of MGSA did engage in "put downs and cheap shots" (like @Julian contends). (What I mean is, if it occurred on social media outside of MGSA I certainly wouldn't be aware of the communication, which doesn't mean it did occur, but @Julian certainly feels it did)

I don't mind myself if MGSA and ZAGD both exist going forward. I see no pressing need to merge the two.

I do think, regarding what @Julian wrote about IESA, that @Julian doesn't have all the facts. I think I have heard a fair bit more information about IESA, and my conclusions about the organization are quite different.

I suppose if anyone here does have questions to ask of IESA I'd recommend posting a thread asking those questions (or make a post on the IESA thread). @Lexaquillia has responded openly and transparently in the past when asked for information from these forums. I'm also happy to answer any questions that I know the answers to.

[Full Disclosure: My company is a paid member of IESA, so IESA is acting at least partly on my behalf, as an industry association is intended to do]
