Super Smash Lander Suicide Party, Bro?
Hey! This is a pretty old game of mine. It was originally a Ludum Dare game, but it's been touched up a bit. It no longer has as many razor blades around the edges, though it is by no means a polished experience. The images are of a slightly older, less polished version than the playable.

If anyone wants to give it a shot, I'd be honoured. I still have dreams of fixing things and adding more content and jokes, but I may never have the time.
Background: So I played a lot of Pixel Jam games at some point. I really love all the little touches and interactions they put in their games.
Pixeljam : Low Resolution Entertainment for High Resolution People
Please support them if you like what you see. It's tough being a Flash developer. And they're nice people.
And on top of that I was bothered that I hadn't managed to solve the Game.Dev challenge that had been posed to me about a year before. It went something like : Make a game that combines gameplay from two different types of games to make a sequence". So not just a genre mashup, but a narrative that is told through changing mechanics.

And so, much belated, "Super Smash Lander Suicide Party, Bro?" was born.
Also... the other guiding hand in the affair: The theme for that particular Ludum Dare was "Alone", which I thought totally sucked as a theme. They also introduced the evaluation axis "mood" during that Ludum Dare, which I also thought totally sucked. The last thing I wanted to do was make a lonely moody game... so I tried to make the exact opposite, a game about the joy of being a bro.
It came first in "Humour" and second in "Fun". And I think I learnt a LOT through developing it.
Some of it, and some of its themes, have ended up in what I am currently working on "BROFORCE". You'll also probably spot the Free Lives logo in the gameplay if you make it that far.

Also, goddamn you pranked me so hard the first time I played Super Smash Lander Suicide Party. Gah.
I made this version slightly faster to get through I think (by making upgrades a bit cheaper and rewarding players for failed high-fives). It didn't need to be grindy, I'd rather people finished the game quickly.
