Last day of Pax10 submissions today!

edited in General
Shit.

Shit shit shit shit shitSHITshitShit! Aaaargh!

... Oh, wait, they don't require a video this year anymore. I was going to just use our old one again as a last resort, but I'm glad that's not an issue.

So if you've got $50 (down from $100 last year too, yay!) and a game that you want a chance to aim the PAX firehose at (I'm looking at you, Broforce) go here and sign up!

Last year we apparently nearly made it: Desktop Dungeons was in a panel called the PAX11-13, which gave various game industry pros' perspective on what you could have done to make your game better. We had an invite to PAX, but no floor space meant that it would have been really hard for us to get the game in front of people. The game's grown a ton, so I hope we can do better this year!

  • Dudewaitwhat... I thought submissions closed on the 20th??
  • ... Oh shit, you're right!

Then the 15th must be the deadline for Indiecade.

    AAAAAH!
  • Damn dude, you'll give us a heart attack! also indiecade is may 31st.
  • Second what @raithza said Indiecade deadline is May31st, and then there is still the late submissions :P

    Then what submission ends today?!?!?!?!?!
  • You know what would be cool? If MGSA had a calender that had all these dates on it...that would be cool

  • I don't think any submission ends today... Maybe a talk-submission deadline for GDC China or something. Sorry for the panic :(

At least I got our PAX DD submission in. I'm hoping for a clean sweep of rejection letters ;)

Being eligible for the E3 Indiecade booth requires submitting to Indiecade by the end of today. Maybe that's the thing?

Nice work getting DD in. I hope you wrong about those rejection letters, and your only regret is that you didn't moisten up for the arse licking you're going to receive.

Yup, I just realised that's what it was. No idea why I was going so crazy over that...

Seeing as we got rejected before, I tried something different with our game description:
“Adventuring At Own SIGNIFICANT Risk!” That’s what we tell every would-be hero round here! We go through enough of ‘em anyways. Them lawyer boys tell me it’s cause we’re a Kingdom living in a puzzle-roguelike-like masqueradin’ as a casual game with deep learnin’ hiding under the surface...
You wanna know what’s under the surface? Goats. Hidin’ everywhere, in every cave, dungeon, swamp, evil tower and horrifying crypt. Infestation is what it is. Kill you as soon as look at you. Wear your skin too… Goats are weird like that.
Next time I see a – what are you kid? Halfling Berserker? Goblin Assassin? Yeah, all look the same anyway – next time I see your saggy face come back into town and you bleat rather than hand me a freshly re-murdered Zombie brain to sell? That’s when I cash in on this here life insurance you just signed.
The hope is that it catches more attention than a list of things that DD does/has/plays like.
  • Have you considered building a adventurer-skin constume simulator for goats as a companion game to DD?
  • Have you considered building a adventurer-skin constume simulator for goats as a companion game to DD?
You'd take ages designing a character in 3D and then a goat would wear the skin down a catwalk?
  • So long as the goat does a convincing walk, and refrains from bleating and eating the curtains. Otherwise the ADventure Capitalists cash in on the deceased's life insurance.
  • ... That feels like a great alternate name for DD: Adventure Capital

  • Last day of Pax10 submissions today!

Shit shit shit shit shitSHITshitShit! Aaaargh!
  • For realsies this time. Are you guys submitting?
  • This is the description I'm hoping we submit:

Broforce is a hyperviolent platform shooter. It features 90′s blockbuster movie action heroes making up the Broforce team – an under-funded vigilante paramilitary organisation – saving the world from satanic alien terrorist investment banker businessmen in non-stop, fast paced co-operative strategic mayhem.

Broforce is still in development – though it is playable online right now. The full game will feature:

    Explosions.

    Camera shake.

    Destructible terrain.

    High-Fives.

All the power of the 80s and 90s at your finger tips.

A battle against terror as dozens of action heroes, each with distinctive attacks and special brobilities.

Local bro-op play and online multiplayer bro-op.

Deathmatch arenas with leaderboards and rankings.

A level editor, the ability to challenge your friends, and share your custom levels.

Chug cold ones in your Brofort or on a boat.

Vehicular action sequences, dinosaurs, aliens, epic Contra-inspired boss fights, nuanced and strategic combat, explosive action and deadly stealth.

    More explosions.

For every terrorist killed in Broforce, a terrorist will die in real life.
If you believe in LIBERTY and JUSTICE, you will play BROFORCE, and you will love it (Or at least vote for us on Steam Greenlight).
  • I think you should start off with the hyperbole, don't leave it for the final few sentences. Also, mention Contra and "homage" early on in the description - bros + homage will break people's minds :)

  • Bros + Homage... I see what you did there ; )
