  • I think people are more focused on the OUYA. Are you working on the Leap Motion @Tr3dent?
  • Not yet, getting one to play with to see how applicable it is.

Although I am worried about the fatigue of holding up your hands the whole time.
  • Had a look at this when they first started sharing videos, from a digital design viewpoint. I'm generally interested in anything that moves away from the "pictures under glass" control interface we see in computers/mobile devices/tablets as I think that breaking that barrier would take us to the next level of device interaction, ie. a more natural form of interaction - which is a good thing.

If one could combine this with something like the Oculus Rift (or maybe Google Glass), I'd definitely try to make a plan to "play around" with it.
  • It certainly looks magical, but yeah I'm skeptical of anything that looks like it can't be used for long periods of time. Gimmick. Though for limited, timed applications (short games?) it could have good use, and if precision is amazing then that may be interesting.

So it would be nice to see how it does IRL first.
  • I pre-ordered mine about 2 days after the first demo video went up on Youtube, so that was just under a year ago, and they will start shipping pre-orders in late June 2013.

I'm hoping (and/or learning the Leap SDK if it's not there) for an easier method to control windows. Honestly, it's the most annoying thing, having to fumble for a mouse, then for the cursor, just to move a window out of the way.

It doesn't seem like it would be entirely appropriate for long gaming sessions. I'd expect to find more use in things like maps, navigating photos/documents, and navigating large data sets (it'll be amazingly useful to change filters and dimensions in reports just by hand motion). Plus, flinging windows out of the way in fits of irritation ;)
