Free Lives, indie developer of smash hits Broforce and GORN, is looking for a 3D animator to breathe life into the animals on our new IP, Terra Nil. Responsibilities:
- You will be creating animation for a large variety of animals that show their unique quirks and personality. Many of these animals will be quadrupeds of all shapes and sizes, but there are also birds and marine life.
- Work in a collaborative environment on-site at our studio in Constantia, Cape Town is strongly preferred, but remote work may be an option for the right candidate.
Requirements:
- a minimum 1 year of professional experience as an animator using Maya
- a solid understanding of animation principles
- proficiency with animal body mechanics and creating naturalistic movement
- experience making game animation (e.g. looping cycles)
- experience working with game engines (e.g. Unity)
- experience working with teams that use version control (e.g. Git)
- experience rigging, weight-painting, and unwrapping UVs
- passionate about animals and nature
- We don’t do client work; we make our games for ourselves and our players.
