So we are nearing release at the end of the month...

Check out the trailer:

I dont pretend to be the best animator but I gave it a shot. Your thoughts?

Under immense stress to be available for OUYA launch, but here goes :D

  • The trailer doesn't really point to the gameplay too much, so that's something that I'd add more of. You could lose a little time in the corporate setup, just move faster between action points and remove the text overlays, corp dude can just say "blah" and have slides with "SYNERGY" on them and get across the same idea ;)

BLU is a Team Fortress 2 team name, I don't think you need to worry, but just FYI.
  • That felt like watching a CGI trailer for Final Fantasy in that it didn't tell you anything about the game :(

I agree with @dislekcia, you can cut down on setting up the office premise and give more in-game footage
  • Where would you recommend distributing this? I have mailed out to relevant sites, but any other ideas are appreciated.

More gameplay! If you want to get people excited or interested in a game, you gotta do gameplay. That flashback at the end isn't enough to make me understand even what it is I'm supposed to be interested in!

Once there is gameplay, you can email directly to all the gaming blogs... local and international. Let the game speak for itself! Try everything. Touch Arcade and their forums are a good place to start. Slide To Play, Rock Paper Shotgun, 148apps (something like that), local Lazygamers, etc. Try everyone!
  • Hmm, drumming up attention for an OUYA release should mainly be general game blogs - I don't think there are many OUYA-specific sites out there. I'm pretty sure RPS won't care much unless it's a PC thing as well... Are you not getting support from OUYA on the press side? It might be an idea to ask them if they've got a preferred press list, if they don't have one they should definitely work on making one. Plus Kellee's there now as head of dev relations and she's awesome, so reaching out to them and asking for some assistance wouldn't be a bad thing.
  • Stylistically, the trailer is *AWESOME*. Well done on that front! I would just like to see less cuts of still gameplay images at the end, and instead something like 4 to 6 2-4 second long cuts of high action gameplay vids, with a more impactful and *solid* bookend to close it all of, leaving a lasting impression with me.

Good luck with the release; I personally think that OUYA is going to end up being a giant stinking pile of poop, but I'll be happy to be proven wrong on that front :)

You guys are awesome love the style of the game and trailer bit more gameplay but nothing negative at all to add! It is really hard to make a game and then get to the point of releasing it many have gone insane ;) especially indie and local based, but you guys are doing it and its looks great! Wish you guys all the best and really hope you guys do well out there on OUYA!!
  • Only just saw this... but thanks!
  • So how has the game been doing for you guys?

Saw your interview with Grant (got a little annoyed at the derpy pre-amble on the show itself though, I hate the whole "OMW you can make games in SA?!?!" thing) looked like fun :)

... Um. Would I be being a horrible douchebag if I said I cringed at the lack of tabbing in the code that flashed by? ;)
