Software Developer needed
3D Animation Studio looking for a software developer to help oversee the architecture and quality of the production pipeline, integrating tools, DCCs and cloud services into a cohesive, long-term, sustainable pipeline.
Job Title: Software Developer
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science
• Software development experience (3-7 years):
1. Competence with version control
2. Experience with database design
3. Highly conversant in delivery-oriented processes (e.g. Agile, Lean, DevOps)
4. Python experience strongly preferred
5. Other programming languages advantageous
• Excellent architectural skills, including understanding the architecture of existing systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of 3D concepts:
1. Knowledge of or experience with computer graphics programming
2. Foundation in 3D mathematics preferred (e.g. linear algebra, 3D geometry, physics)
3. Experience with a pipeline/production platform preferred (e.g. Shotgun, ftrack)
4. Experience with 3D animation packages advantageous (e.g. Blender, Maya)
Behavioural Competencies:
• Highly strategic thinker – designs solutions that increase business value, decrease maintenance cost and are suitable for multiple projects running in parallel
• Excellent scheduling and prioritization skills – able to make realistic estimates, scale solutions to achieve a milestone, and communicate holdups before they become a problem
