I'm not eligible to enter, but here's something anyway in the spirit of the jam. :)

I've been toying with the idea of making a stealth game like Thief. I didn't get to work on it for the full duration, because I was across the country for a wedding. I only got about 14 hours of work in.

Pre-made stuff I used:
- Cinematic Image Effects package by Unity
- SE Natural Bloom by SonicEther
- Some code for detecting light and shadow that I'd made earlier in the week

Things I tried to get done during the jam:
- Character controller. The Unity is crap, so I tried to roll my own physics.
- Being able to highlight/steal golden objects
- Being able to put out lights
- A bunch of guards that can see/hear/chase you

Things that didn't go so well:
- Unity's realtime GI doesn't make bounced lighting get shadowed when it's cast from point or spot lights. This was supposed to be on their roadmap 2 years ago, and still hasn't been fixed... :/ so you see weird light bleeding occasionally
- Level design is kind of rubbish, with pretty much no art aside from the lighting and post fx.
- Crappy audio

Thanks for looking!

  • I enjoyed playing this. I must say that I felt that even though you said it has bad level design I was impressed that only 2 guys could provide the kind of challenge they did. Which I liked.
