Roguer - A roguelike texas hold'em game [print & play] [microgame] [solo] [prototype]

edited in Projects
Hi ya'll :)

I've always been interested in taking "classic" game elements and remixing them. This time I've taken poker mechanics, and made a solo dungeon crawler where you take risks, have bad shit happen to you, run away, loot, fail, and hopefully get better in the face of ever increasing odds.

Yes, it's a single-player boardgame, and there's only 18 cards - so there's only 2 double sided pages to print and cut out to play :D It's a "microgame" in the same vein as Love Letter & Eminent Domain: Microcosm.

The idea is that you face off against increasingly bigger and bigger monster hand of cards, and there's a set of community (dungeon) cards. Omaha Hold 'em rules apply, so both you and the monster must use two cards from hand and two cards from the dungeon to make your hands.

The twist is that each card has a player ability, and you can use those abilities to manipulate yours, dungeon or monster cards to create favourable positions for you. And each card on the flipside has loot too, which makes your life a bit easier as the game continues and you get deeper and deeper into the dungeon, facing more and more monsters at a time.

Thanks :)
