Registered for my first ever game jam, yay! I see loads of people are going to the CT one, looking forward to meeting all of you (I assume there is some form of meet and greet at the beginning?)
Hi all. Was my first time at one of these get togethers and really enjoyed it. Didn't get to meet a lot of you and had to run but thank you very much for the interesting evening :)
Man... so busy finishing my masters atm ;/ so much work to do but I can still do some stuff from home, cos I really hate missing the jams. So if anyone wants some music or sfx just mail me (timjh8@gmail.com) or PM me on Makegames and I'll try put some stuff together. :D

Thanks dude that'd be sick. Which area are you based in? Maybe you could just pop in to see what's going on?
@charly sorry for the late reply. There is no restriction on time to be there. We will also be serving some pizza to the Jamers, so I hope everyone attending the Pretoria one have nicely registered on the Jam site. See you soon
Registered for the JHB location, but jamming remotely with a few other people in Nelspruit...any possibility of someone sending us the theme via PM, else we will have to wait until Hawaii starts and the theme is made public. Any help will be much appreciated.
Still kinda getting the hang of this. My work load and lack of sleep coming into the event didn't help. It will be better next year!
But it was really great having so many people at the JHB jam, and I was really impressed with all the teams (even those who didn't submit anything: I saw the work you did, and it was great!)
I hope I'll see a couple new faces at the JHB meets :)
Also as a little side. I'd like to share a cool little thing that happened this jam: we had a lot of people who didn't register come and join at the jam. The coolest was Shannon who's parent brought her on Saturday to find out what GGJ was about since she is going to college soon and was interested in game dev.
Sunday she came back to learn how to make a game, and a very tired me tried to implement so smooth movement with trig. I really don't function in the morning or without coffee ~_~
But in the end there was a game of which was made in an hour or two. And it's a really cool moment to see the joy of someone who has just made their first game :D
A huge thanks to @Karuji for organising! Don't listen to him, it was superbly well organised, his hounding people to upload stuff on time really helped.
Shannon was basically me three years ago, where I had 2 other dudes jamming with me while I did my first Game Maker tutorial at Wits, she had like 20 people jamming along at Microsoft. How far have we come!! It was fantastic to see new faces :)
MAKE MORE GAMES! Looking forward to Ludum Dare! :P
Guess I feel a bit off 'cause there is a lot I'd like to have done that I didn't have the time/resources/faerie dust to organise this year, and would really liked to have there. I've already been thinking about some issues that we had, and what I want to do to make next year better.
I'm quite proud of my hounding at 3pm though. From the org channels it seems that the servers did fuckout at 4pm (it's when the UK starts uploading)
Will start trying to work things out for Ludum Dare soon :3 hopefully I actually get to work on a game at it
Also did someone say make more games?
Man it's weird looking at a vid with so many white dudes @_@ (though quite proud of how many of you I got wearing the same tshirt!)
Really curious to hear how things went in PTA from @kimardamina and at Fuzzy Logic from @Jason. Got to say that PTA has some really different/interesting looking games to try out :D
I FINISHED SOMETHING! I think this is the first Game Jam and/or Ladum Dare that I actually feel pleased with the result. I'm looking forward to seeing how people play it!
Just wanted to re-iterate what Tuism said - Karuji did an awesome job at the event. It was the first one for everyone in my team, and we are all three really proud that we managed to actually release on sunday (even though two of us installed unity for the first time on friday night :D). It was a really really great vibe, and thanks a lot for everyone who was super helpful and friendly to the noobs.
@Karuji did a great job at organising saw no complaints about the event as far as I know except the air-con which was tooooo cold! but I shall turn a blind eye to that for now. I did want to take a group photo as well but I forgot (My Bad) I shall remember to do it next time! However I do have some photos of the Jam if you guys are interested in seeing them.
Had a great time making a game for the GGJ, my second to date. A little late to get into gaming (worked on 3D animation projects) but the bug has given me the bite. Always wanted to get into gaming but never knew the right people or had the friends that encouraged it. Looks like a good place to start :)
Just wanted to say a big thanks to the Cape Town GGJ team, especially to Patrick and @creative630 for handling the hourly demands of the venue. Also big thanks to everyone involved in keeping the venue fed :)
Congrats to everyone that made a thing, that was a lot of fun!

Glad you enjoyed the jam :3 I know it was a bit cold, but I'd rather keep people a bit cool than have sweaty jammer smell ;)
