NAGJam - Ultra Nitro Don't touch that brake!

image

Still working on our entry for the NAGJam, and would really like some feedback. It's a 2 player game (but can probably be attempted as one person), so if anyone can playtest a bit and give some feedback it would be much appreciated. It's a kinda Carmagedon meets FIFA thing?

Here is a web build:

If it doesn't play in Chrome, try Firefox or IE, cause Unity?

Thanks

  • Cool so firstly I think its important to remember this is a expo game. Meaning that people just don't give a shit about text. No one is going to read your instructions. Ive seen this first hand with @Tuism's Bear Chuck two years back. And in Bear Chuck there is much less text than in Dont touch that brake. So if its possible to remove that instructions screen I would recommend you do it and replace it with something more user-friendly.

The button to start the game is also not that clear. At first I thought that it is just a static image. Eventually I started randomly clicking everywhere till I hit the button.

The instructions were also a bit blurry. But I suspect you know this and that it is temporary.

A 3.. 2.. 1.. GO.. countdown could be nice. Have you thought about increasing the collider radius of the goals ? I usually try to make the colliders of things I want to hit a bit bigger thant their visuals and things that I dont want to hit a bit smaller than their visuals.

Also needs screenshake, tire tracks, exhaust smoke particle effects, bigger score counters.

The idea seems cool. I just dont have any friends to test with.
    Hope that helps.

  • Just played it and its damn fun. I agree with @Kobusvdwalt9 that the text screen (albeit a stipulation) could be less involved. I never really read the instructions and I figured out what to do pretty quickly. Also, if it had not been for reading Kobus`s tip about the start button, I`m pretty sure I too would not have found it. All in all, good job :)
