Desura contact person

As everyone is probably aware, Desura has quite a few problems at the moment. Our biggest concern right now is that people have asked us whether they can get keys of Monsters and Medicine once it's released on Steam. As such we want to distribute Steam keys (when we launch), or Humble keys (now) to all the owners of the game.

Does anybody have a contact person at Desura who we can talk to directly?
Alternatively, if anyone has distributed keys like this before and can push us in the right direction that would help too.

Thanks.

  • Ok, first up - the chances of you seeing any money is nearly nil. The parent company has filed for voluntary liquidation.

First thing to do is to go to your Publish tab, then to "Regions & Price" and for every package, set it to "Invite Only". It's a quick way to flag it not for sale while still having the game listed.

As for keys, you could either add keys via the "Invites & Keys" part of the control panel, or if the sales numbers are lowish, just do it via a mailing list once you have the keys.

I might possibly have a Desura contact somewhere, but would have to do some archaeology.

  • @rustybroomhandle Thanks for the response. We've done the "Invite Only" thing now, thanks for the suggestion.

We're still a bit confused about distributing keys. If for example we add a Steam key on that page, will everyone be mailed keys from the ones we then upload later?
Otherwise, since you mentioned doing it via a mailing list, do you know where we can get a list of e-mails of the people who bought it?

It also looks like Humble keys aren't one of the default options. I suspect we'll have to go with the mailing list option, or is there a way to get around that?
  • I believe a Desura user gets their external keys from the "Your Keys" button on their collections page. It issues them on the fly from the list of keys you added.

As for getting a user list. Not sure how one might go about that or who to speak to. I imagine this is difficult on purpose though.
