First Game Launch - Looking for Feedback - BOS Runner
Hi there everyone.
We are relatively new to the game design business and we have just launched our very first game on mobile devices.
I am not here to promote the game, although it will inadvertently get some attention, but I was hoping that I could ask for your feedback? It has been quite an interesting learning experience.
The game was made for BOS Ice Tea, BOS Runner is the name. The idea was to create an “endless runner” type game where people can enter to win prizes. We worked with what we had, still in the process of nailing Xcode :)
If I could please ask the community for some constructive feedback for a first-time game creator, that would be really helpful. Be nice now, hahaha.
If you guys would not mind giving it a go and let me know please.

Apple - https://itunes.apple.com/za/app/bosrunner/id917664339?mt=8
Thanks for taking the time to read it and we are looking forward to feedback from the community.
Thanks again
De Villiers

I just wanted to find out if anyone has had a chance yet to install or check out the game?
Thanks again for the help. I will check in a bit later.
Cheers

Is the game complete? Can you still make any changes? People might be hesitant to comment on a project where it is too late to implement any of the feedback.
I downloaded and gave it a go. So it looks nice and plays like a typical endless runner, not much more to say.
I don't think the colour choice of the stars was great as they tended to blend into the background too much and I often didn't see them.
Not sure the ability to side scroll was necessary. What was the thinking here?
Played it for a while but its so YELLOW!
And that's basically all i have to say, feels plain....nothing that will draw me towards it.
You want to have something that will be screaming! HEY YOU!!! PLAY ME! Your imagination will freaken level up if you play this game!
Check some other games and look at the color.
@LexAquillia - The colour scheme changed over time, it was initially a vibrant landscape. The change was made after we got go ahead from the client, their colour scheme is only red and yellow. The ability to control the character was to give people a "better" chance to collect the stars. It was initially controlled by accelerometer, but people found it too confusing.
@Sonicay - Hahaha, love the explanation. I love playing games and making one for the first time taught me alot. I agree that it is nothing ground breaking or flashy, but the goal was to get people to interact with the brand. I personally, would have loved to do it a bit different, more towards an arcade feel (faster paced action and explosive energy). All the elements in the screens we had in the game, but as the project got styled, so did the graphics.
I will attache some screens to show the earlier version of the game. It was quite fun figuring out what I was doing hahaha.
Guys, thank you so much for the comments so far, it is really greatly appreciated.
Will check back shortly.
Cheers
