John Romero Plays and Discusses Doom

This has been doing the rounds on several sites. Have the Gama link:

It's split up over a few videos (one per level) and covers the whole of Doom's first episode. If you can put up with the host's incessant babbling, it's really cool to hear what Romero has to say as he plays through, given 20 years (!) of hindsight.

Easy to forget what a monolithic deal Doom was back in 1993.

    That's JP LeBreton, and I rather like having a point of view of someone who not only has done level design on notable modern games, but is also a Doom superfan (and definitely fanboying it up quite a bit there).

    Heh, I'm harsh, and it's definitely cool when he interjects with anecdotes from his own high-profile projects, but I could only take so many consecutive "yeah"s in the background before the tears started to gather. :P
