Touch Screen Game (Educational)
Good Day to you all,
I reside in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs. Is there anyone on the forum who resides in Cape Town, who can assist.
We are working on an Educational Project/Game to work across all devices.
I am looking for as much advice as possible.
I have been looking into programs such YoYo (gamemaker) & Gamesalad as programs to work with.
Has anybody worked with these programs?
Are they worth buying the full package?
Are there other programs out there which might be easier to start with as a beginner?
Is there some one out there willing to assist?
It would be great to meet with anyone of you in person or contact via email to assist.
I look forward to any helpful information

Does the free version allow you to test on phones?
Also IN MY OPINION, Game Maker is a pain to get started with. Stuff in Game Maker is not as logical as they could be. Also if you cant code and you use game maker you are really limited to what is possible. This forum uses mostly Game Maker, Unity and the odd case of Unreal.
I recommend Construct 2 (https://www.scirra.com/construct2) (https://www.scirra.com/store/construct-2)
If you cant code a single line of code Construct is the best game making tool out there. You get to the satisfying part of Game Dev really quickly compared to other tools which means you will stick with the learning longer.
The visual scripting language is very close to what actual code looks like so jumping to unity or something else more advanced is easier.
It supports a lot of devices already and exports to HTML5 which is rapidly evolving technology. So even if it cant run on something now it will most probably in 3 years.

PS : this sounds so much like an advertisement for C2 ;)
