Steam Greenlight frozen since August 1st '014

Not sure if anybody noticed, but no games have been Greenlit since August 1st of '014. There was some talk that Steam wants to re-haul Greenlight, but I can't remember the source. Does anybody know what is happening? One of the reasons I'm asking is that I have a game that is in the top 50, yet months pass and there is nothing happening.

Games are being greenlit, they are just not all strictly from the top 100 and no batch announcements have been made.

I'm not sure about that - a quick trip to the Googles shows a game that was greenlit less than 2 weeks ago: http://vrfocus.com/archives/9630/gravity-core-passes-steam-greenlight-campaign/ (announcement here, dated 16 December this year)

Unless if that "greenlit" is a different thing to what you mean?

UPDATE: Spot-checking listings on the Greenlit page, it looks like there's more that were greenlit on 16 December.

If you have a look at the Steam Greenlight page, the last batch announced was on 1st August. Maybe they are hand picking now? It used to be top 50-75 titles per month before then.

@critic there have been rumors of Valve overhauling the system. There have been no official statements on the matter.

Also there have been many games Greenlit, 417 since the 15 of October according to http://greenlightstats.com/

Valve also only used Greenlight as a metric for games, external press and events are factors that contributed to a game getting Greenlit. There is nothing atypical about a game in the top 50 not getting through. So in other words: They have ALWAYS been hand picking.

And finally zX got Greenlit on the 13th of November. So I'm pretty certain that games are still being Greenlit.

That greenlightstats webpage is a bit thin though, could be from October '013 since in total 1.5k games have been Greenlit since August '012.

I also noticed that there are many being silently greenlit. As in not in batches.

Also I am pretty sure that we were not even near the top 100 when we got greenlit (Also sometime in Nov I think 2 days weeks after ZX). I am still not sure what happened but I would guess that someone at valve looked at the game and liked it.

Yeah, on closer inspection games are being greenlit, however the numbers are somewhat confusing on http://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/ stats show that 1.7k games have been greenlit and 500 released, yet on the greenlight "browse" section it shows 2.3k greenlit and 4.2k released. Also the "news" section has not been updated since August.

If in fact they did greenlight 280 games yesterday, it definitely shows a shift to some new selection method and they are being quiet about it.

I also noticed nothing was greenlit for some time late last year. Then on my bday 16th dev valve greenlit Xoi San on steam. a Few days after they greenlit a whole bunch of games.

So i feel special. If you are aware that lots of games were greenlit on my bday... dont tell me. Ignorance is bliss
