[Prototype] Topsy Turvy
A game inspired by the Video Game Name Generator output of "Topsy Turvy Mutant Insurrection". The mutant insurrection might come a little bit later. But for now, we have this.
WASD or ARROW KEYS to MOVE
E to INTERACT
[UPDATE]
Played around with aesthetics and created One-Way-Platforms.
The one way platforms prevent the player from getting stuck.
Tear my game apart and tell me why you hate it.
Please and Thank You.

Comments
I have two comments :)
a) The camera hurts my eyes a bit. As you press a direction it sways the opposite direction which is quite jarring.
b) I broke it :P I went through the portal and right into the wall, then proceeded to slowly move up behind the wall until landing on top. I don't think that was meant to happen ;-)
It is sort of reproducible by walking skeptically the portal (once you have flipped).
There are a few more bugs to be fixed. Thank you for breaking it.
I will try to make it enjoyable.
I like the way the character falls through the portals.
As was already said, the camera movement feels wrong.
I'd like to see you try add other mechanics to this. Gravity-shifting games often come standard with other objects that are affected by gravity (that can be obstructions or useful in interacting remotely with things).
Maybe there are some other interesting things you could do with gravity shifting? Maybe making new portals or having more control over gravity. Or narrative or visual ideas you could experiment with?
We're also aren't too sure about the mechanics we want to layer on top of this, and we are still struggling with whether this will be closer to twitch game or to slow puzzle game.
One of the mechanic we are considering implementing is Mutation. Probably through means of "Different portals mutate you in different ways". This will allow the player to jump higher, possibly fly, move faster, swim faster, maybe have more health ( for whatever reason ). Aesthetically we imagine it would be based off animal abilities.
Obstacles such as lava, water and crumbling blokes are probably a definite, and booby traps such as flying spears. We are unsure about enemies, though.
I feel like the level design is lacking. Some advice would give is to have a purpose with each level. Atm I feel there is no purpose except maybe testing the code of the game. Once each level has a purpose you should take away everything thats not part of that levels purpose. So if the purpose is introducing the teleporters, focus the whole level around that. It should be simple to grasp the purpose of the level.
The camera system needs some work. It felt like the camera was looking where the character came from, instead of where the character is going. Try having the camera look to the side the characters are facing.
Overall I would say that its a cool game but you need to think of ways to differentiate this game from others. Players dont want to play a platformer which is basically a re skinned mario. I think this is what @BlackShipsFilltheSky was also hinting at.
Keep up the good work.
