Spells of Genesis - Innovating the Game Economy with Bitcoin

edited in Projects
Greetings from EverdreamSoft in Switzerland! I'd like to present our project "Spells of Genesis”, a fantasy trading card/arcade game which will integrate bitcoin and blockchain technology in its game economy as well as its storyline. It is targeted for release in Summer 2015 on iOS & Android. We are giving a free mine to everyone who registers on our website before our crowdsale begins - so don't wait, sign up now at http://www.spellsofgenesis.com !

This crowdsale will fund the development of the game. The people who back our project will share financially in the success of the game (instead of only getting goodies or a free copy of the game). During the crowdsale, we will put 100,000 “Mines” for sale. Everyone who is interested in the game can buy some mines to finance the development of the game.

Mines are tradable assets which produce gems, the premium currency in Spells of Genesis. You can use these gems to enhance your gaming experience, or you can choose to sell them to other players and in this way get your investment back. • Interesting stuff.

I have some questions. How do people "buy gems" in the game? Simple in-app purchase? If so, then as I see it, you have "mines" which is the crypto-token you hold, which "earns gems" when others buy gems. So you can get gems if you either buy them directly, OR if you just hold some "mines"?

So, the incentive besides wanting to partake in speculation, to buy "mines" is to generate "gems" so you can personally unlock more features in the game?

Secondly, what back-end are you using? Counterparty? Mastercoin? Dogeparty? Couldn't figure out. How do you connect the game system to the token? Must you register and sign the address you use to store the "mines"? Are you hosting them (sort of like a web wallet instead)?
  • Hi! Thank you for your interest and sorry for the delayed response. Great questions! The mines are not issued as a cryptocurrency, they will be as soon as we start the crowdsale. At that time when we clean up duplicate registrations people will be able to redeem their mines.

Please check out this short presentation which explains how our token system and game economy will work. www.slideshare.net/spellsofgenesis/innovating-game-economy-with-cryptocurrency-43208262
