Construct 2

edited in General
Does any1 here work on construct 2, is it a good engine for making games? I'm working on a game at the moment but I can't seem to figure out a way to test it on a phone or tablet... Works 100% on my laptop...

  • Looking at the features list on the Scirra website, it seems like you need to be using the paid version to publish to iOS and Android. There are even tutorials for both that seem to work with the free version.

There are a couple of people here who have used Construct in the past. I wouldn't worry about it, if it works for you and lets you create stuff, cool :)
  • I have a rough draft of my game, only one level and start page, I will upload it here, will you have a look and tell me whether I can get anywhere in the gaming world, career wise?

    Appreciate the feedback...
  • Hi.
I created Xoi San in C2.

C2 is pretty diverse and lots can be achieved. Just stay away from crazy overdraws and you should be fine.
  • I am currently using C2 to mock up game ideas, before I commit to unity dev work. So far I am pleased with the ease of use to get my ideas out of my head ,and on to somewhere where I can test it on web/mobile(yes I have the paid version) PS: I am basically also new to deving for games.
  • I am not using C2 but I did and I recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to learn something like unity3D and UE4.

The way the visual programming works is very close to actual programming. Much more so than something like playmaker (which makes no sense IMO), which means that you will be able to jump to more powerful stuff like unity easier.

Thats not to say that it is not powerful. You can do quite a lot with it.
