The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and their cool art technique

Man, oh man. This game is stunningly beautiful. Here's a few screenshots I took while playing (stupid forums dont recognise them as images):

It's made by a small team of devs who used to work for People Can Fly (of Painkiller, Bulletstorm fame)

They used this awesome technique called Photogrammetry which basically means digitising a 3D model of rocks, trees, cliffs, houses, statues etc. from a crap-ton of photos from all different angles. Go read this very entertaining and informative blog post on the process:

Then grab the game off Steam for R200, it's worth it if you like X-Files murder mystery with a bit of Amnesia: The Dark Descent thrown in.

You can try this with Autodesk 123D Catch software for the IPAD and Android (its free).
Or you could get 123D Catch for the PC and upload your own pics. It works really well if you do it correctly, ie no harsh shadows, lots of camera angles, no distortion or blurring on the pics.

You can save out to FBX as well, but the problem is the massive poly count. But if you read @Nitrogen last link, they go through the process of cleaning up the models.
