Firstly, do you only play as the Christian crusaders, or is the Muslim faith playable outside of multiplayer PvP? Also, which Christian states are represented. I could be wrong here, but if memory serves, crusaders were united under the banner of Christianity (predominantly Catholicism), but the empires, kingdoms, and duchies involved were each vying for their own superiority in the eyes of the faith through military success? So yeah, wondering if the story focuses on any kingdom in particular.
The crusades represent a fairly tricky historical period in that religion was overtly and (in some cases, especially this one) inextricably tied to geopolitical affairs. Do you intend to imbue the game with some sort of message/critique/justification around such issues, or is it just an aesthetic backdrop which you've chosen to use to frame the game's strategy mechanics?
That's all for now, but I might have some follow-up questions at a later point. Really looking forward to seeing how this turns out :)
Mission 3: Ekserogorgo
Soon, the Crusaders’ destitution caused chaos and riots in Constantinople. Several houses, palaces and even Byzantium churches were burned and looted by rampaging pilgrims. Emperor Alexios had no choice but to send them through the Bosporus, where Crusaders encamped near Nicomedia. Soon disagreement arose between the French, Italians and Germans. Italians and Germans, led by Renaldo, moved to Nicaea and stood at the siege of Ekserogorgo fortress.
The city was sacked, the Crusaders started a massacre. But the next day Muslim troops approached the city, and Sultan Kılıç Arslan cut of the water sources to begin the siege.
This is the third and final training mission. As the commander of Seljuk your task is to clear the fortress of Crusaders. Due to the lack of water it’s easy to defeat them. Remember - in each mission the amount of your troops is limited. Make sure you have enough trained soldiers to attack the enemies.
About focusing on particular persons or kingdoms - as described in Fransua Misho's book the main figure will be Tankred De'Otville https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tancred,_Prince_of_Galilee
About our message in this game... its a difficult question)) but in faсt our main aim - to make history interesting, and to tell people, that they mustn’t forget the past and that tolerance – is the only one path for the future.
