Using Slack?
Everyone has their preferred way of working, and mine is with this super-nifty app called: https://slack.com/
It's cross-platform group IM and filesharing, with integrations to just about every cloud service you can think of. I use it with a grand total of 1 other person (my founding partner), and we have ongoing conversations across 5 different topics. It works well there, and it works even better for larger teams.
Probably my favourite thing about it is that the company behind it (Tiny Speck) started out as a gaming startup. Their first product was a web-based MMO that didn't take off, but while working on that they built the foundations for what would become Slack. It's a heck of a pivot, but if you ever wanted a reason to use another productivity tool, "comes from a game dev company" might be the best one :)
