So there's a "pop-up bar + arcade" happening in Braam:

Feels like something we should be watching to see if it's something SFA and everyone could be a part of - we have our own games damnit! :D

In short, expect a venue where classic arcade video games can be played in an inviting and relaxing atmosphere to the retro sounds of 80’s and 90’s hip hop, grabbing snacks like corn dogs, sticky chicken wings, pulled pork sandwiches or chicken fried waffles from a classic American bar menu by Taylors Good Food (I know, I’m already dying inside from excitement). As far as drinks go – expect an extensive selection of premium craft beers and international breweries as well as your normal options of fire water. 10 custom-made arcade machines will fill the space (classics like PacMan, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat and Bubble Bobble) , allowing plenty of opportunity for everyone to enjoy the free games in a bid to own the leaderboards. Barcade opens at the Alex Theatre in Braamfontein (plenty of space for mingling and chowing down after work) to the public on Friday the 26th of September at 5pm.

Doors will open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights between 5pm and midnight as of Friday the 26th September. Entrance and games are free. This looks like this is going to be THE place to be this Summer in Jozi (even the wifi is free!).

It kills me that they just copied the name and concept from Barcade which has been running in New York for years. Still cool that they're going to the effort to make this happen I guess.
