This made me cry for 2 reasons. First the new UI is so good! Second I can't use it for my projects yet because you can't publish :(

Yeah. You can't, because it says that unity beta build on all builds. I played around with it the UI then uninstalled it to keep working our projects.

Well in our Ludum Dare entry it has the "Made with Unity 4.6 beta" but that's just the web build. PC build has no water mark.

My web player said "This will only work on your computer" so I assumed you can't publish. Is this not true? Can I make a web build that everyone can play?

We've been using Unity 4.6 beta for quite a while now and it seems very stable, so much so that we released with it on both iOS and Android. So in case you still had reservations, go grab it now!

Changing the thread's title. I love the new UI. It's going to be a pain to strip out all our UI for Alien Lobotomy but it's worth it.

I'm glad they have built in UI now, but is it just me or is it a carbon copy of ngui?

Aren Mook of Ngui was employed by Unity for 6 months to work on uGUI2.
It is based on his design concepts although he left towards the end of the development cycle - last year I believe and then Unity refined and enhanced it further.

It's got some fundamental differences from NGUI which make it far more pleasant to work with. In particular the anchoring system is far more stable and consistent (in my experience).
