Gaja's Reckoning (a one player card game)

edited in Projects
This is my first self-made card game I'm sharing with MGSA.
I am still learning as I go along and the support from you guys has been great:)

Inside the zip folder there is the following:
- A PDF about Gaja's Reckoning and how to play.
- A PDF containing a "card breakdown".
- 4 printable pages with all 30 cards on.

There is still a lot of work to do, yet this is a prototype I found fun and interesting to play.
The images for the cards I mostly did in Photoshop CS3, except one which is a clip-art image from the internet.

  • Had a quick read through the rules, if I have time I'll try and give it a play :)

    First thoughts:

The objective isn't really clear. This is the thing that you should always start with, to frame readers' minds against something, to give an immediate, goal-oriented context.

Do you know Boardgamegeek? You really should give it a look, especially right now, there's a PnP Solitaire play boardgame contest going, and it's among the most popular contests on BGG, because it's much easier for people to print and play a solo game than a game that requires an opponent.

    The contest thread:

The contest subforum, where you'll see all the entries. It's really good to learn from successful entries, so look and see which threads has a ton of feedback, and see what they're doing right, vs those who aren't getting feedback. That's really good yardstick.

    Coooool good luck :D

  • @Tuism, thankyou for your first thoughts.

I don't know Boardgamegeek, but I'll sure check out the links you've posted.
My studies and life in general are keeping me a bit busy, wish I had more time to enter such a contest:(
    In future, I'll do so.

    Later:)

If you had the time to write that up you have the time to put it up there with pretty much exactly what you had here and hope for some feedback from a captive audience who likes this kind of stuff :)

Literally can't be more than ten minutes from registration to posting :)

    Just saying :)
