    @Tuism Cool! :)

    I'd like to encourage all those looking to do focused feedback (myself included) to make use of @TheFuntastic's lovely feedback advice:
    Maximise the quality of the feedback by making sure you have a focused line of inquiry.

    It's natural to feel proud of your creation and to want to show it off in front of captive audience - we're all prone to that, myself included. The following is inefficient use of the platform and everyones attention:
    "I made a game, whatcha think?"
    Rather strive for something like this:
    "I made a game. I'm running into design/sound/art/performance problem x. I've tried to solve it in these ways, but no dice. Suggestions?"
    Even if you're espousing the mantra of show early and often, this could be phrased as:
    "I made a prototype, this is what playtesters find interesting about it, how can I maximise that?"
    Also, I'd love a spot to show the Wits 3rd Years exam game, Roguevania Saga for some feedback etc. Here's what it looks like at the moment:

    We're working on it at the moment a bit, so it'll probably change quite a bit before Tuesday :).

  • I'd also like to do a talk this month - I haven't done one for ages!

    My talks are usually exploratory of ideas and theories with lots of audience interaction, so I'd like your help in deciding which one I should do!

    I'd either like to do a talk on 'Designing Games Coherently' (designing games where all the elements cohere and fit together) or a talk on 'Analyzing games Subjectively and Objectively' (analyzing games like Flappy Bird: it's a 'good' game because it's so popular [subjective], but is the game design of it good? [Objective]

    Which one sounds most interesting to you, the masses? :)

  • I vote for option 1 - the coherent talk.

  • I, the masses, vote for option 1.

  • 1 from me.

    I want to show of the gamez! I want to discuss the play mechanic I am going for and get thoughts from the community (and show what I have so far).
  • Thank you, the masses - number 1 it shall be :).

    @edg3 Cool!
  • @Stray_Train has offered to do a design analysis of Rogue Legacy to round out the meetup's content. Yay!

    Oh lawds I am really going to have to hold myself back from yelling "BUT NUCLEAR THRONE IS SO MUCH BETTER" every other minute >.>

    Not sure if you noticed, but your picture is upside down ;)

    @critic, it depends on which way you've orientated your monitor. Hold Ctrl+Alt+Down to correct 0.o
  • @Fengol, you are probably using an on-board Intel GPU :)

    Anyway, you picked the coldest day in the year for this meeting, I'm thinking of attending, if I do I will need to leave early, is that ok?
  • I have work to finish because I am stupid and continue to bite off more than I can chew. Have fun!
  • @critic Sure, sure. Also, we don't pick the days - Microsoft does, we just pitch up :).
  • So Cal'Caccio was closed and I see noone was coming, so I'm home and warm, and I guess most of you are too :P
  • More like Cold'Caccio's, amirite? :P

    Same with us. A closed restaurant and no newcomers forced us to eat all the other patrons and leave. Sorry @Asbestos - we'll have to chat next month. :(
