Unity N00bs...Unite?
Good morning Good People!
Always wanted to make games but lack of proper coding skills had me try Construct 2 first. I'm not completely oblivious to coding, I regularly work with jQuery and JavaScript and the occasional php script I need to hack up.
I've always known about Unity but kind of felt like I don't know enough and it's just going to be frustrating to even do simple tasks. That and some performance issues in Construct 2 I've started to notice.
So I was wondering how to get started and where? Decided to download the Unity 4.5, found this little nifty toolkit RagePixel (I like pixel art style games and it's what I'm most comfortable with). Can you guys help point me in the right direction, am I better off sticking with basic engines like Construct 2 and Game Maker for now? Will Unity be too much?
Thanks you in advance!

Game Maker is great for speed - truly. So starting there could also be good, depending on your programming experience. I'm not much of a programmer so I started with Gamemaker.
A friend of mine works in PlayMaker... which is a proprietary Unity plugin that works with free Unity. He's an artist, he doesn't know anything about code, but he made this game:
Just mentioning it as an option.
