Gravity Cart [android prototype]

edited in Projects
Gravity Cart is a platform game where you use your device's accelerometer to jump and control a cart while hurtling down an endless course.

You can get the prototype from the play store here
(Would a link to an apk have been just as good?)

Any feedback welcome!
I would really like to improve the game

  • I gave this a try, its fairly fun.
    two things though:

    1) with a random track at higher speeds it's very easy to jump and shoot right over the next section of road, although
maybe I should be being super cautious to avoid those instances. either way perhaps a little preview of upcoming track or something would help plan the jumps

    2) Although it's not clear from the get go that the air control follows the phone orientation/rotation, it works quite nicely.
It had me attempting to get as much air as possible to try do tricks. so perhaps include the possibility of tricks even
if just for random badges or whatever. I feel it'd bee cool to see a little flair like popup float away message for a forward 360 or
even for a nose grind jump recovery. I know this might be a particularly large amount of work (not sure how you would track such things) so it's just a mild suggestion.

otherwise I enjoyed it and the controls work well.
  • Just wanted to add that I really like the style of this. It might work so well because it reminds me of Mirrors Edge, but it's definitely slick. Nice work :)
