Mobile Moba?
What do you guys think of Phone or Tablet based Moba style games?
Now I'm OBVIOUSLY not saying "port Dota to iPhone" lol :P I just think there is an appeal to competitive multiplayer style games and the possibility of one on a cellphone device could maybe work.
What are the thoughts of the community?
Do you guys think it's possible if enough stuff is specifically designed to work with the Touch Screen interface?
Do you think this is completely enviable? If so why?

Clever multiplayer games are becoming a thing, just look at Spaceteam
Not saying it's the best designed thing in the world - I wasn't enchanted by it all that much - but it does approach the design issues that MOBAs have with regards to touch devices. I'm not too sure if the turn-based nature of the game really works as it tends to make everything feel slower (when you actually want things to feel quick all around) but it's definitely interesting.
What would you do differently?
@dislekcia, wow so that's basically a Moba game on Mobile straight, I wonder how it plays, I'm sure with those graphics response time on different devices might be a problem :/. I was wondering what avenues are possible to explore in the Mobile Scene, I started making games for touch devices and really enjoy the possibility they present. Maybe a super simple Moba type game with 1-10 minute matches might be a thing :?
@Tuism, I want to make a card game so badly but it's so intimidating! As a Magic the Gathering fan I struggle hardcore to come up with original ideas which aren't just derivatives of Magic Mechanics :P
@Elyaradine Gameloft games have nearly always had junk controls.
In any case, there's plenty of competition in the mobile space for MOBA's ... http://www.appsgoer.com/2013/12/24/top-ios-moba-games-released-in-2013/
Even Zynga have given it a shot: https://itunes.apple.com/za/app/solstice-arena-worlds-first/id648531679?mt=8
I don't think there's any reason as to why a MOBA can't be fun, and also a big success on mobile. That said, real time competitive multiplayer games are not easy to develop, and lots of other developers with experience in real time competitive multiplayer games are going to be competing against you.
@Fengol Space Team have been very public about their sales (which is awesome): http://www.sleepingbeastgames.com/spaceteam/Numbers/
@atomicdomb Honestly I don't think you can start a game by thinking of a game type that you want to make. Unless you already have experience making that type of game. If you have an idea for an experience that you think might be appealing, then try that. If it turns out to be appealing after you've tested it, and it happens to fit into a MOBA style game, then make a MOBA style game. But don't try make a MOBA in order to make a MOBA, you'll be beaten on experience.
But if you actually do have a unique and interesting thing you want to do (and it happens to be a MOBA), I'm sorry for assuming you are approaching it from a by the numbers standpoint.
