[Job] Freelance animator to create asset for a top down shooter (Cape Town if possible)
Hi Artists.
I have created a top down shooter and I am now happy that the game works like I want it to. But since I am as artistic as a cinder block, the game looks a little...not good.
I would like to have someone who can create the assets and animations for the game (based on my crudely drawn and even more crudely explained scribbles). It is a sci-fi based top down shooter so I would need someone who is more geared towards sci-fi stuffs. Robots and cyborgs specifically, and general battle environments with a bit of a realistic grungy feel. Having said that, I will happily take the advice of the artist as I am sure that they know about these things better than I do.
I do not have the software to create such art so the artist will have to have their own stuff.
I don't mind if the artist prefers to work in 2D or 3D, but I would need the assets to be rendered out as animated PNG's.
Money will be paid and this is something we can negotiate and agree upon. There will be beer.
If you are interested, please feel free to contact me with questions.
Thanks everyone.

Also, welcome to MGSA! :D
I would prefer to meet and show the prototype, because at the moment it only deploys as an .exe
Completely top down, and the game play is similar to the way Crimson land played, arrow keys make the character run around and the mouse is used to aim and blow sh*t up. I will send you some screen shots as soon as I get a chance this evening.
"omg it's not done yet"
"omg it's not as good as it should be so people will hate it and i'll never get another chance"
"omg programmer art"
But this *is* the best time to show off GAMEPLAY. Even if you say it's just like Crimsonland, there must be a reason you made the game and a reason why it's fun for you that's NOT crimsonland, and letting people give you feedback about GAMEPLAY (which is the focus of this forum and community) can do nothing but help your game get better even before you get beyond blocks (we love blocks that show gameplay. Really.)
Deploying as an exe is perfectly fine, we all know how to download and run, half of us is on windows, and most of those who aren't have some kind of windows VM. It's not a barrier. The only barrier is not putting your game up :)
I am an artist/designer/illustrator, but the best thing I learned about making games is what I said above, and deviating from the above causes any changes down the line (and there WILL be. Embrace making your game better! Most would say if you haven't changed your game because of some piece of feedback, you're doing something wrong)
Ok sorry for going on and on, I'm just reciting collective wisdom around these parts :)

So you're looking for 2D spritesheet animation then? What's your timeline expectations? How many enemies/characters/backgrounds/powerups/things have you planned for? Any preferred style? (examples help a lot) What's your plan for the game?
Thank you for the welcomes :)
Except I went to his site and saw that he puts out multiple browser-based games a month on top of being as awesome as he already is and now I feel like a horrible developer who never does anything :(
Here are some screenshots of the game play. You may say:'Hey! he said sci-fi, these look like zombies and jocks! Which they do, but those are the assets I could steal borrow. The game is still quite unpolished so comments are welcome :)
When the game starts a pop will ask for a password, you can just cancel this box.
