  • This talk is beyond superlatives to describe just how worth your time it is if you make games or are interested in starting any business requiring passion and creativity. Watch it. Your time will be rewarded.
  • I really enjoyed that.

I remember when Dislekcia posted about Antichamber, I was like "meh another lucky indie gaming success". Now I know what went into that success, I'm a lot less quick to judge these things at face value.
  • I think the stuff that affected me the most were :
    * Fake it until you make it.
    * Luck is a multiplier not a determinant.
    * Making games is not easy. I mean he worked really really hard to make this success happen.

Alex has been talking about how he made the decisions he did and why for his entire journey, years ago he could explain why it was worth doing X or Y and how he figured that out. He's one of the most self-actualised and driven people I've ever met, he's never afraid to learn something new or take a small risk to try something so that he can establish a baseline...

Ever since meeting Alex, I've carried around a tiny version of him in my head that shouts at me to jump on all potential opportunities to do more of what I love. Tiny Alex made me get over my fear and meet John and Brenda Romero, they're cool people. I know a bunch of other people that say there's a Tiny Alex in their heads too.

  • That was a truly wonderful talk from a very interesting person. Anyone know if his follow up talk he mentioned is online?
  • That was amazing. I was fully interested all the way, especially since I've finished that game. Really is an amazing game.
