Idea (will be updated as it evolves):
  • Point an click game where objective is to leave your own house through a sequence of rooms. Your own home is your prison.
  • Two game layers: The 'real' world and a 'nightmare' vision of the real world.
  • The game will appear empty, but there will be invisible creatures 'attacking' you. This will manifest in actual pain on the part of the player.
  • The player will control moving between these phases to progress in the game.
  • The 'real' world will have story and objectives.
  • The 'nightmare' world will hide the objectives, but the monsters will be visible, and encounters resolvable (still hazy).
  • You will still be attacked an hurt in the 'real' world by monsters that can only be seen in the 'nightmare' world.
  • The idea will be to force players to constantly swap in and out of the two worlds to try and progress in the story without being defeated (not necessarily death, maybe insanity?).
  • The rooms will each be designed to reflect (potentially unrelated) personality traits (eg: paranoia, hubris/narcissism).
  • The 'nightmare' world of each room will reflect this.
  • The rooms will be arbitrarily large and imposing.
  • Totally trippy music.
