LEGO turned itself around by analyzing overbearing parents

edited in General
I found this read interesting. Have spent some time thinking what it means to games especially those aimed at a younger audience 7-12.

  • Interesting read. I think the research must have also impacted the plot line for the Lego movie. Spoiler: The overbearing parents part really came out in the end with the Kragle being glue. I also enjoyed the ending where they tried to break the father-son mentality in Lego with the father allowing the sister to play too. I'm glad they didn't just put pink lego monsters everywhere trying to destroy the world :)
  • @creative630 I had the same thoughts about the movie and the correlation to the article.
  • @tbulford Thanks for the share. I'm interested in using lego mindstorms as a teaching tool.
  • @Kree8: A private school here in Durban uses it in their curriculum. I used it to help some of my students understand basic fundamentals of programming ... and they got to be kids for a while again ... so it was a winner. :)

  • @creative630, not sure about that as there where a bunch of different endings, and they finally picked that one. When I left production I had seen a few of them and still didn't know which one they were going to go with XD
  • Haha, oh well. It was nice that it was semi-consistent at least, whether intentional or not :P
