Started a community computer club. Looking for advice.

edited in General
Greetings all. My name is Ben. I have been a long time gamer and have always wanted to create my own games but... The excuses are too numerous to list, end of the day I know it lies on me but I have decided to start up a very small computer club. So far I have managed to gain the attention of 5 highschool IT learners. For our first meeting, I screened Indie game the movie and it was an instant classic. Currently we are playing braid and communicate with each other via a wordpress blog I setup. I have tried to provide them with as many resources as I come across and I have read through the adventure game studio manual and plan to create the tutorial example and in turn teach/guide the learners to do the same. I'm very excited to see what the learners come up with. I feel game making skills should be taught at school level. The learners informed me that their grade10 project was to create a game in scratch. Honestly I have no idea what I am doing, other than to share my love and passion of gaming with the hope to inspire the youth willing to listen to create their own unique South African games. I'm looking for positive or negative feedback. I look forward to being an active member of this community and for any meet ups in the durban area.

Kind regards,
Ben
