ChessCube.com is looking for a senior Java engineer to take ownership of the technology platform for the second biggest chess-playing site in the world, where you will:

Continue building and improving the comprehensive ChessCube services layer. Front-end development on iOS Android and Web, as well as for potential API partners. Have a strong focus on coding form and maintaining a consistent standard. Rewrite the messaging protocol, to drop AMF in favour of Websocket messaging. Express yourself clearly in documentation and in meetings.


Key Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of software development experience, B.S. degree in a computer-related engineering field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience, as well as:

Java skills
Core Java (JDK 7 preferred, JDK 5 essential)
J2EE Web Technologies (Servlets, JSP)
SQL (MySQL) experience
A broad sweep of Amazon Web Services experience

It would be advantageous if you had experience in one or more of the following:

JDBC and SQL mapping skills, especially transactions
RESTful Web Services framework (Jersey)
Integrating private APIs from partners
Working closely with partners in developing custom integrations
Caching technologies (Memcached) and in-memory caching
Distributed Version Control
Eclipse
