What application do you recommend to make installers?

Ahoy everyone,

We are nearing the completion of our application on Desura, but are stuck at one point. They mention uploading an installer file for our game....

Can anyone recommend a packaging/installer application that they have used or tested?

Well I'm not sure about the Desura policies, but we use Nullsoft scriptable installer for a lot of things. I find it very powerful... it is free and pretty well supported on forums around the web.

yeah I have used nsis many times a few years ago , works like a charm. Even most big name open source guys like blender and vlc use nsis installers

Seriously for Desura don't bother creating an installer. Just use the uploader they have and point it to the working folder. Desura handles its own installation just like steam does so they really don't need an installer.

For normal windows installation we used Advanced Installer. Mostly at first because our product was in Java but as it worked out its a good Windows installation tool.
