Get funding for Windows Phone app!
Hey Guys,
I thought I might share this here as it doesnt seem like many people have heard about this and would be great seeing guys from MakeGamesSA on Board.
We recently got funded to build our New World Of Rabbit game through this channel and are in the process of building the game.
Basically its funding from Microsoft, Nokia and a university in Finland, open to anyone as long as the project is exclusive for 3 months on Windows Marketplace. Its a real great opportunity and they have EURO18 million to spend. So far I believe about 200 companies/ppl have been funded. They will fund new titles and not any updates of existing games available.

Best of luck!

Hope that helps. Might be worth still emailing the address listed in the article and seeing what happens.
you can still apply in South Africa by going here: http://www.mlab.co.za/appcampus/
If they like your idea they then send it off to Nokia in Finland. I think they only take the top 3 in South Africa each time.
The current batch just finished last week, but the next batch has to be in by June/July I think.
And if you want to speak to a local dev that has successfully used app campus speak to RogueCode ( http://twitter.com/roguecode ), if I remember correctly his game was funded by appcampus: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/vala-alpha/d23fe3c1-4a3f-4dc8-a0da-9fb691c89c37
