"This is less a story about a guy making $50,000 a day and more about a developer who just rode one hell of a roller coaster this past month." I think this quote says it all.

  • yip, great article. It's always nice to see someones journey and always interesting to see what knee jerk reactions we have to sudden success.

  • Its also noteworthy that this is the 2nd article on Flappy Bird the rollingstone has done. Seams some game developers are picking up the same kind of fame as rock stars.

@tbulford I arrogantly made a similar statement in corporate a while back in frustration.

I said *Us* developers, WE are the rock-stars. But isn't it true?, we produce, we create. We're the artists. Not the managers, not the planners, not the financiers. But Artists mostly aren't successful! But they ALWAYS seem like a happy bunch, no? Isn't it great to be an independent game developer in 2014? or any year :-)

Thanks for the link! I loved it and it changed my perception about Flappy Bird and made me realise being HUMBLE in success (like Nguyen is) is so much better than landing on the Bieber side of that fence.
