not quite related, but for kicks I sometimes to go to this site http://www.ivona.com/en/, fill out English sentences (quotes, words, whatever I am thinking at that moment) and hear the French/German/Italian/Icelandic/etc pronunciations

(today I discovered: "raxter" said in a German accent sounds unsettlingly nice, most names in a French accent sound awesome, Icelandic has all silent 'h's and 'c's, and Italian pronunciations sound ... just Italian)
