Habit RPG

edited in General
This is such an awesome idea with very good game mechanics that keeps me hooked. I find myself really making an effort to do my daily tasks because I don't want to loose health. Also I want gold and level up so I can get a pet! The balance is actually very good. Secretly you are managing time because from your gold earnings you can get rewards do do things like watch tv etc.

Check it out and get some stuff done the way life was suppose to be!

  • Sounds a bit like Epic Win for iOS, a RPG themed and gamified task manager.
  • Haven't played much, but had a look, and I think it's a smart premise. :) It just... felt a bit greedy (i.e. it has multiple potential sources of income, including gem sales, ads, premium accounts and selling whatever information it mines from your habits(!)), but that may be completely unjustified.
  • @Fengol I tried Epic Win for a while but it lacked punishment which creates a proper game environment

@Elyaradine yes it's got some money schemes. You could just go grab the code and setup a private server. Because the whole project is open source!
  • Interesting idea, I agree that monetising in that way is a bit off for sometihng like this, but I'll give it a shot :)
  • I'll give it a shot, I think its a cool idea..not sure if they will keep customers if the lazy gamers start to fail or cheat themselves haha.

All in all I think 'gamifying' is a great concept and we will still see much more of it!

When I used to work at Sasol in the control group we actually did a lot of work on redesigning the GUI of the control pages/panels Operators used to view and manage the plants (factory), to ensure human behaviours are taken into account and how to visualise changing conditions and extreme or dangerous conditions. There was huge success rates in terms of production and reduction in terms of abnormal situations.

But the industry is far away from gamification, even though there was a lot of talk about it and I really believe Operators can benefit or will want it, especially in training simulators for running and controlling factories and equipment on their SCADA...
