HintHunt: The live action point n click adventure game (in Cape Town)!

So last night I took part in one of the coolest things:

Basically you and a few friends get locked in a room and have 60:00 solve your way out of the room cracking puzzles, deciphering codes and all the other kinds of awesome you'd expect from an adventure game. Interesting is the way they solved the problem of the time limit and adventure games in general, is to have a game master presiding, gently keeping the experience moving forward if you get horribly lost/stuck. The awesome thing about the time limit is it encourages an action experience, where everyone has to get involved and maximise teamwork and collaboration.

Apparently these are getting quite popular overseas, and it's awesome to see that someone has taken the initiative and brought it over here. Highly recommendable for anyone in Cape Town!

    This looks super cool, what a nice transition taken from the digital space into the real! I would love to give it a shot! I *think* I especially like that they've kept the experience cryptic in their materials :)

    Are there different scenarios (if you go again for example) and is the game master actually in the room with you? How is that explained? :)

    Right now this is a single once off experience. Though they are planning new rooms. The games master is a control room. And acts as deus ex mechina

    Just got an email from the organizers. They're planning on coming to JHB in early 2014!
