Yes, try come through to GGJ though, it is always a great jam!
Definitely gonna do GGJ, but won't be there from late Saturday afternoon till Sunday morning cause I am going to see Lamb of God. Got my ticket October last year already.
Well, you could also get some pre-meetup action going by joining the Global Game Jam. I'm guessing a lot of the same faces will be there. :) It's not a lot sooner, but you can ALSO make a game, which you can the play at the meetup. So it's a win-win-win situation.
@iPixelPierre, if you come I guarantee you'll be able to make a game in 2 days. If you're afraid that you won't be fast enough with tech then just go primal. Board and card games don't have a tech barrier so you can do one of those if you want.
In the end it really comes down to scope. So you (probably) won't make the next Call of Duty, but you can most certainly make a game. :)

What he said! Also, what @Bensonance said: There's always teams to join and things that need doing. Heck, even just being around and playtesting is always a great help :)

... Or else.
Well you should just come make one with someone else then :). We'll have lots of people to team up with!
Even if you don't end up making a game - make sure to drop by and check out the mad panic of a game jam :).
