LINKIN PARK!!! I was gonna go but I started a job and didn't realise it was ON A WEEKDAY too. Damn them for insensitive timing.
-
Freely, sure :) But of course the usual spammage sensibilities apply :) (not saying you will spam, just saying that's the only thing to watch out for, really)
-
Curiosity is out now... I got it... And seriously it's VERY boring. Sure it's about curiosity, and sure it's about having a million people on at the same time, but.... I can't see if anyone is doing things (chunks of blocks disappear at a time cos o…

(ps they organise things fine on their own sites BUT they do still use those other notification things) (pps and they actually have their events tacked up on their home page... something we need to get done)
-
This looks awesome and would definitely be something good to archive in the wiki :)
-
Link it from here so people can go to it themselves and just join it :)
-
Actually yes, getting people to come back to the site is a goal, but also not at the expense of convenience and common sense :) Yes there is also the Facebook event, I think we should link that from our pages, so that people can at least subscribe t…

I just think everyone has their own idea of what we want to do and therefore assume allot of stuff. I think that's only because what you want to do hasn't been made clear to us, either in communication, design, or implementation :) If I am not welc…

However I will contact people that I know of if they do not submit their games here, but I will only do it once. By this, do you mean that you will contact people who owns the game, and just once, and if they don't confirm or deny wanting their game…

I loved it and inspired my first prototype, but that didn't get very far cos I ran out of XP points. Will get back to it when I've leveled up more :)
-
this ALREADY looks cool :P Are you looking to do turn-based or real time... or a mix of both with something like ATB gauge? :) Lots to explore! MATCH 3 IS AWESOME :D
-
it WAS this one called Cleanvertising Black (think it's on dafont), but that one had stencil-style gaps which I closed manually. So after manually tweaking a few things, it's not a font anymore :P The small writing below is Corbel Regular 11 point …

@Jwho303 logo is available here: http://makegamessa.com/discussion/342 Rock on, muchos looking forward to vids :)

Updating issues is a real win, actually. I've gotten used to doing it all myself through a download manager, but yeah eventually automating it through Steam would be good. Plus I get to chase the "100 compile errors" achievement. Woohoo :)
-
Haha that's ok, if you can be bothered to transfer everything to the steam version of the same thing, go for it. The only difference are "achievements" that you can get... for stuff like having games crash 50 times, or getting 10 errors or somesuch …

Hey cool :D it sounds like that thought I had the other day - if you take away the narrative from a game, it'd still be the same game, but with numbers. Like Mathscraft :) I really like the way it represented all the parts pretty well everything, e…

Thanks, I'll look that up :D to be honest I use google and skim. File handling still confuses the crap out of me cos there are like a million loops. Still noob with those. And most things :p oh and I saw some stuff that worried me about file handlin…

For me, editing a column of values is less intuitive... I'm laying out my variables in the editor so that it makes sense to me, so for example: data_populate(global.card_master_name, "Dude", "Guy", "Soldier", "Defender", "Berserker", "Bishop…
-
Lol so I could make an array, give it a bunch of values, and then pass the array through to the ds_list? :) Using a list was supposed to make the rest of the manipulation simple (I wanted to use functions like shuffle, insert, etc without having to…
-
Well, are you going for "winning the comp" or "a cool game"? Also, do you not think fulfilling "a cool game" is what this comp is about? :) I think what I would do is rather than adding a bunch of new features, play within the confines of what you…
-
Fun! Very interesting, have you ever played Noby Noby Boy? Reminds me of your dual-control scheme. It was a very sandbox game with basically NO objectives :)
-
Ok cool thanks, when I have something I need to web playerise I shall take up your offer :) thanks! And @dislekcia was this a change only from the very latest version? Cos I've been updating lately (after 1.1.522) and has been able to - as long as …

"The keyword here is balance - remove that!" Lol it makes total sense :) Wow his setup is insane. @Elyaradine is your setup anything like that? :D What he says about being an artist vs a designer is really pertinent, and something a lot of people …
-
So you're using an older beta version which has the web player export feature - but I wouldn't have the Web Player unless I bought the Web Player License, is that right?
-
Do I have to register an account to download? It seems to want me to @_@ No public dropbox? I get what you're saying though, about adding stuff. I would say that you've now got a mechanic, now if you can use all those elements to build different le…
-
Oh COOL! :D Did you get the HTML web player license or did it come with GM Studio standard? I checked out the wiki but it didn't say. And remember to employ y-sorting of depth so that higher instances will stay behind lower instances :) Cool :)
-
That grind-pac-man was epic! So much variety in it though, bombs and everything :) Looked like fun. Left right runners are fun if you get the balance right. Super Hexagon was a left right game :)
-
Awesome, we need more of this wiki migration of info :)
-
On one level... I guess this is like a hyper pac-man! :D Sounds like fun, let's see how the collision works out. The traditional damage route is one way to go, otherwise... Well, let's see :)
-
Yeah I loved StarFox :) just didn't realise you didn't mean something different. It all comes down to the implementation! Looking forward to it :)
-
That sounds like Starfox to me. Or Space Harrier. What's the difference between those zooming-along-a-rail games and yours? I don't really understand?
-
phychic :P
-
@notsimon207 I bet it's another physics game :P I'm sure it's ok but ask the overlord for final sayso :)
-
Actually I'm so amped for this I wrote a blog about it and a million inspirations (ok 5). Then I got so much more amped for this that I came up with an idea before I was able to fall asleep :) So yes I totally see the point of this - make it simple,…

Meh, the video started out erm, interesting with what I thought was a TED talk ripoff recording, then got cheesy with the whole cook thing, then he shot off about something about interstellar... level up... leather seat... Then I couldn't give a dam…
-
AWESOME!!! That video.... INSPIRATIONAL X 100000. That's a game even I could make. Except of course that's their amazing idea. Part of me thinks... TOO SOON (since the last comp), part of me thinks FUCK YES. I guess time will tell :P (for me)
-
Lol. But all the way through, the whole production had that... 1999 feel to it. Animations lacked punch, fingers didn't quite grip, movements that seemed more like floaty balloons than actual movement. So for me, I feel they tried too hard and fell…
-
Lol I updated the characters, tbh I don't know what you're gonna do with my 10 dwarves XD http://makegamessa.com/discussion/272/a-tekken-dudes#Item_21 Thanks for making collage :) It really shows off our diversity of talents, coolnesses :)
-
Thanks guys :D Updated with 64x64 sprites at 2x zoom. Devil Jin's wings unfortunately had to be clipped in a little :(
-
Silhouettes first for the win :) Then, after you decide that, you think about the colour layers - lighter in front or darker in front? If you have shadows then it's typically darker further back. Think about outlines, are they black, darker, or ligh…

The fact that you must have an engine to build a non-trivial game is a fallacy, something perpetuated largely by people who don’t know any better. Sums up the whole article and what everyone here has preached for a long time, sometime with success, …

Forget the photo, this sounds like we needed to be there, whatever you're talking about :)
-
I guess one could only invoke Brokeback if there were backs to be broke. I'd say Caco's spineless.
-
That game has already become TOP 10 on the App Store, despite it being utterly shit and selling for a dollar. It's such a shame that some random Joe cashes in and totally ruins the legacy of the original Slenderman - the Lost Pages. The Slenderman …

Sorry I didn't know 64x64 was a requirement but a guideline, but I hear ya! I'll make 'em right for you, when I get home :) Cheers :)
-
Cool guy, in fact I'll stick it up on the site public for anyone. Just gotta do it when I get home :)
-
Errrrm my files are at home, I'll do 'em for you later...... I guess I shouldn't do 10x 64x64 dudes right? :P
-
Though I like the sly Prince, this one's closer to how you wanted him - ie sleeping :) Last thing (sorry didn't mention before :P) is to make feet that pointed upwards since he was lying down :) Just a liiiiittle bit :) Very cool @Ally :)
-
oh just one little thing - the little crest symbol thing on his chest's orange area - it makes more sense if it were shifted one pixel to the right, as perspective wise if it were lifted a bit it'd be there instead of more to the left - ya know? :) …
