Bought and am looking forward to the 2 player mode! :D I do see the Tasty Poison logo right after Crescent Moon :)

The 3D game with the shifting hexes looks super interesting, but damn that mouse sensitivity kills me... I'd just like to also say that you guys are doing superb work, despite the forums being a bit quiet. I think quite a few of these day-made prot…

@LexAquillia you need hard copies of documents by Friday 7 December (7 December is a Saturday, so you mean Friday 6th?) - does that mean we need to courier stuff to you or can we send it to you digitally to print out? Do these documents need any sor…
-
I declare every 21 of November National Juice It Day where we show everyone this video again (cos someone is bound to have not seen it!)
-
Can I assume that all as yet unanswered questions are going to get answers as you find out? Thanks again for everything @LexAquillia!
-
@LexAquillia is that then then only thing that I'd need to work on - a tax clearance certificate? Is everything else that I mentioned all ok?
-
Dude if I get to go you can totally shotgun my suitcase. No question. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to, but I'll be damned if I pass it up when it's possible. DOING ALL I CAN!

wireless everything, but not ergonomic anything (rectangular keyboard, not split star-trekky keyboard). Pretty standard office chair, dual monitor (one straight facing, one to the left - I find if I have them both in front of me (split down the midd…

OK so I have a company that'll send me - it's Realtokengames, @loet owns it (huge thanks!), and we're working on Rocketto together. I have a few questions: 1. I can take Bear Chuck (with some more love and polish) with, as well as Rocketto which we…

I would take ANY opportunity to further my game dev learnings. Like ANYTHING. Can anyone sponsor me? I'll also be asking around. This is pretty damn big...!
-
Submitted, not entirely sure what I am, but I'm impassioned and I'm sure as hell backing MGSA come hell or high water!
-
The site says it's only available for 32 bit window... Has everyone stayed on 32 bit windows or moved onto 64 bit? I'm about to format and reinstall so was wondering. (next step is a thorough upgrade @_@)
-
Yeah you *say* that it's not as complex as it sounds, but it *is* because you gotta write all those possibilities and script each character's default behaviour track and balance it and find out if they interact correctly etc etc etc. I get it in th…
-
@Fengol thanks for that! I didn't see that for stuff other than the backgrounds. @Rigormortis let me know if you find the download stuff useful :)
-
You can already play the updated version :D http://www.tuism.com/rockettoGame/ We'll be pushing more updates as they come! Also working on putting some sound in. That'll juice it a bit :)
-
Holy crap there are some really quality... And quantity stuff there! I see it's mostly in Flash Files, which could be a gap for some people who might wanna use the asset without the know-how or access...
-
Minor incremental update, thanks again @Loet :) Playable web build: http://www.tuism.com/rockettoGame/ > Changed over to 2D engine, lots of buggery, some cool new methods like checking for overlaps instead of damn raycasts :) > The collisions…

I like this idea - it's like a boardgame almost, like Betrayal at House on the Hill or a more complex Clue or something - I used to read these manga (金田一 and Detective Conan) that very much elicited a cool discovery. Heck I remember playing Eagle…

OMG guess what I saw on IndieGames.com??? http://indiegames.com/2013/11/31_games_in_31_days.html That's right, 31 games in 31 days XD Did you guys ever contact any journos about your project? If you haven't yet you totally should, contact a coupl…

Great demonstration of technical prowess... Lagged my computer out a fair bit (seems to be a theme with me and Unity 3D FPS games, maybe it's just my computer XD) but I don't know, did the first game need all that bump-mapping on everything? :P And …

That actually sounds like a good idea, the open floor is good, I feel we need to know how to run the open floors better, though. It's probably more individual experience than structural niggles.
-
Not reproduce touch but... What touching looks like to the mind of the blind person. It'll be a really strange experience and completely counter intuitive... But learnable. Hmmmm. Maybe literally on a touch device - iPad.
-
I feel a large part of the blind experience is the tactile one - feeling - walking into things, hands out, touching things. Maybe the screen can represent a world of touch synaesthetically rather than a visual one. And not talking about a sonar vers…

There was a game called Deep Sea, and it was a completely auditory game :) http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/12/deep-sea-the-scariest-game-ever/ Guess the point is... Work out what it is the game is trying to convey, or what is the thing that's gonna…

Heyyy I really like the good fit between a parachute's downwards slide movement and the hex grid's natural shape :)
-
Ehhhhhhh XD I get that it's supposed to be action controls for the hex grid, but what would work much better is a strict left/right steering control like many other Snake games... So every left and right rotates your direction by (whatever 1/6 of 3…

Don't you set pivot points based on the position of an object in the gameObject? Basically where 0,0 is is the pivot point. But I've had tons of problems around that, it's not as clear-cut as it seemingly should be.
-
Man I wish I could put myself forward, first of all I'm in Joburg, second of all I've got a day job... Yeah, that's that for me... :(
-
Great meet guys :D Thanks everyone! I'm super interested in getting a practical hands-on regarding your examples @Elyaradine, like... Source files or something, that can walk me through how shaders and UV maps and whatever are put together?
-
Yeah the easiest way to cater for colour blindness is to use tonal variances instead of colour variances - but the best way to go I guess is to make use of colours AND tone AND patter/design variances in concert, especially cos non-colourblind peopl…

@farsicon at the end of the vid it LOOKS LIKE he DID wet himself XD

CONGRATS CONGRATS! But of course it was only a matter of time after you guys got NINTENDOBOMBED! :D

Better than interpretive dance :D

I would love to try these out some time and then save up and get myself a pair hahahaha (yes sometimes I'm 12)

Exciting! Edging out Towerfall is amazeballs considering that it's both a unique mechanic in the market AND an Ouya exclusive! (I really enjoyed Towerfall too) (but all the games on Ouya really need 4 players to super shine. In fact it should have c…

Edit: Just saw that it's a system to make dynamically lit 2D stuff - so Sprite Lamp makes the maps, and then, how do you implement it? Why would you need to have sprite lamp do the maps if you're drawing them yourself? *noobconfusion* Is it the sam…

Pig suits and bathing masks optional ;)

Myself and @loet have something of a surprise for tonight's meetup! See you guys there! :D
-
I played this on an Ouya over the weekend with @Loet, well done guys, it's one solid arena shooter, captures the fun that Quake was master of, and I could imagine it being tons more fun with more than 2 players! Are there options for more players? (…

Hellooooo! I honestly originally thought you found out about makegamesSA before you got to know me. This here's a treasure trove for you! Welcome! :D Notable names here that's received quite a bit of love: > Viscera Cleanup detail > Broforce…
-
Welllllll we should have something to show by the end of tonight, but hey, it's really for ourselves more than anything else!! :D
-
Well, the world is often more a balance of greys than black or white. I personally am getting into making games because I love it, and therefore will make stuff I love. But at the same time simply making stuff for yourself is a guaranteed way of no…

OK cool thanks guys :) I'll stick with it. And I found that you can auto Indent the whole thing. Guess I'll use that and learn the crap out of it :)
-
As a code noob, should I be ditching MonoDevelop for something else? I'm finding the indenting super confusing, and having to manual all my indents is kinda doubly confusing me...
-
One thing I'm kinda wondering about is the conversion thing - it feels like it was under-introduced, and sure I did kind of figure it out eventually, but I wonder if less-inclined people would get it - or is it introduced properly much further into …
-
I'm not actually sure how it works - all I know is I want to grow the bits closest to the opposing amoeba... And I've not lost a single game :P What's really cool is that I can hardly see the grid. Cool way of going about it :)
-
So I'm 30 and I started down the road of learning the coding part of game dev last year, around this time. I started with GMS and got a few things going with it, and now I've decided to learn Unity because I want to be able to work with people and U…

This is bad. There was a reason I swore myself off of MMOs. I had the excuse of DD being unfinished, now I'm screwed.
-
Oooooooh I've been looking into Conway's Game of Life for a while and I really appreciate any look into it :D As it is, does it still run according to the same rules? It kinda works out cos each shape has 4 neighbours just like the original square p…

THIS IS THE MOMENT WE'VE BEEN WAITING 3 YEARS FOR :D Drumrollllllllll.... (actually I'm waiting for the iPad version, so erm, still a while yet then :P)
