[Event] Cape Town Community Night - 29 July

If you have a demo you want played, bring a station on which people can play it, and set it up before the meetup begins!

This event happens monthly, is free to attend, and anyone may speak at the meetup - just comment beneath to let us know! This is for anyone and everyone interested in making games of any shape, size or type. Come join us!

    Over this time we'll have Louis Roots in town from Perth, Australia. He's part of a collective called SK Games, who throw alternative game parties, with an emphasis on building interesting custom controllers, showcasing experimental titles and making playing games an all-inclusive experience. Their agenda and way of doing things is very much in line with what we're doing locally with Super Friendship Arcade.

    Louis will be visiting Cape Town as his first stop on a multi-continental tour called "Around The World in 80 games". This tour will see him visiting a series of cities with a bag full of electrical component, then building controllers and throwing parties with the locals. He'll then reduce his creations back into a bag of components and head through to the next city for more collaborations and parties.

    We're super amped about being able to make things with Louis while he's over, and will be throwing a party with him at Manilla Bar on Friday the 31st of July.

    Since he'll be in town over the time of this meetup, I thought it'd be great if we could offer Louis some time to speak about what he's been doing with SK Games, and their recently launched store, Backyard.SK!

    Is anybody coming past UCT that I can catch a lift there/back with? My usual lifts can't make it this month :(
    (I stay in Kopano residence on Woolsack Drive but I can walk to wherever's convenient)
