  • I thought we were keeping game related activities at the MS venue? Because wizoo should be entirely voluntary.

I can do an elevator talk (<5 mins) about how the Cadence trailer was made. "Creating a Machinima with Unity"

  • Could I please get a 5minute-ish slot for showing some of the work the 3rd year design students at Red & Yellow have been doing with their game UI projects.

I'm happy to play games afterwards. What I understood to be the case was that playing at Wizoo (or wherever) shouldn't replace feedback at the MS event. Most often I don't get to show everyone the game I'm demoing at MS because people leave, so an extended demo opportunity is appreciated (and I like making party-ish games and playing them in a social setting so I may have a bias).

Team Devil might be ready to get some focused feedback on a work in progress. We're planning to submit our current project to Microsoft for consideration in their Windows-Unity promotion, the deadline for which was extended to June 30th.

Edit: Ok we've decided not to show this month, but next month just before the deadline we're definitely keen.
  • Are we still restricted to just the one side of the venue or both? Looking forward to hearing what Red&Yellow have to show/say.
  • I met a couple of really interesting people at Net Prophet yesterday - trying to get some of them to talk at the meetup.

See? There are totally cool people who attend Net Prophet kind of events. Phoreals :P

  • I could probably go over our talk for Net Prophet if people are interested. It's not really news to many of the MGSA regulars, but some people have asked what it was like :)
  • Thoopid is in early stages with Snailboy 2. We'll have a playable demo to try out during meet and greet to get some feedback if possible. @dislekcia We would also be keen to hear about Net Prophet.
  • @dislekcia Perhaps give a shortenend recap? Then perhaps also talk about why talking at Net Prophet was so significant in terms of increasing awareness with certain types of people?

So... 15 mins should be good for that, right? :)

@thoopid Cool! I'll put you down for a focused feedback slot! :)
  • @Bensonance: The talk itself is 10 minutes long, that's all we got ;)
  • Hey guys is there any chance I can have a 3 minute slot to show off the Pixel Boy release trailer :P?
    Thanked by 1Bensonance
  • Hey Guys
@dislekcia has asked me to do a quick 10 - 15min talk on some of the games and adventures we had at 24Games/Ogames (Naspers Games Division) before it was shut down at the end of 2011. Giving everyone a peak at the couple of games built and never launched. Looking forward to meeting all of you.

  • Hey guys,

So turns out I need to be available to fix bugs during crunch time and such so I won't be able to make the meet up :( :( :( :(
  • @atomicdomb: Is there any way you can lob the trailer at me somehow?
  • @dislekcia, I should be able to :)
  • Hey, so apparently there was a limit to the number of people who came and myself and a couple of others weren't allowed in, and this was at 6:45pm. Was this a once off thing? Are we really only allowed 40 members?
  • That's very strange @Impy, I've never heard of something like that happening. I will follow up with @LexAquillia and @dislekcia.
  • @Impy: Sorry! We tried to get them to let in more people, that's the first time that anyone said anything about being over capacity - I asked the security people to tell us if anyone was stuck outside. Apparently they didn't... That's pretty annoying. We could easily have had you on the couch outside, seeing stuff on the TV they've got out there. It wouldn't have been perfect, but it would have been better than being turned away :(
  • @Impy Nick said that there's a *chance* that Cape Town will have a different venue next month, one that won't send people away. It really sucks that you got turned away.
  • Hey everyone! Very cool talks last night. Sorry to the people that were turned away. :( We just want to say thanks for the rad feedback on Snailboy 2. We're tweaking some things for the prototype, but we should have something up for you as soon as we can.
  • @thoopid Awesome! Glad that you're going to upload a playable.

I was a little worried that the community didn't give as much useful feedback as you would have liked. Hopefully you'll get a lot of actionable feedback once a few people have a part of the game in their hands.
  • Some of the Red & Yellow students are keen to join for the next meetup. What are the chances someone could make me an awesome A4 poster with the normal details and our branding for me to post up in our lobby?
