Durban meetup

It is that time of the year again when we try see if anyone exists in Durban (and surrounding areas) :)
There has to be enough people to do the occasional game jam, or pizza meetup, or something. Anything.

Might be down, depending on where/when/what. We've got a prototype that would be good to get feedback on soon, so if we're good enough, we can get that ready or something.

If we need a bigger place ... I can arrange one of our larger boardrooms at Hollywood Bets Team Support in Springfield. There is secure parking ... if anyone is interested.

Other than that, mos Saturdays should be fine.

Not sure if it's possible, but having it a little closer would be handy. Like Hillcrest or thereabouts. But honestly, not too sure of what's around that way, because I only see Durban (and surroundings) once every few years :P

The problem for us is that we need an actual PC (haven't found a laptop that runs it play-ably) to run our game so any public place is out.
If it helps, we can make it a day of it with a braai or something.

So are you guys gonna test out the new games that you built? I've just started learning about game dev so I'd probably not be able to do a jam.

Though I won't be able to make it but at least its good to see something happening in Durbs!

@shauntir: Well I have a board game (The Colony) that we may want to play. @roguecode and his crew has a game that they want tested and feedback on.

We are not going to jam as such, but the people there will be able to give you advice and help. I will bring my laptop with, it has Kaboom Arena on it, so we might be able to play that as well ... so please join us if you can.

The idea is to share knowledge ... discuss things ... and have pizza (I added the pizza bit). 8-}

Hey! Good to see this is happening :) It would be great if you eventually decide on a set, predictable and recurring schedule, like every first Wednesday of the month or something. That way even if some can't make it one time, they can schedule it in and make it later, and there's momentum built by being predictable :)

@roguecode: Unfortunately neither :\ March 05 especially. There is an Enduro on at the local trails, and we won't be missing that :P

But yeah, if there is something regular, even if kinda informal, we should eventually be able to slide in somewhere ;)

@ryan20fun, for me, I'd like to do it at my home office thing because I need a full PC there to show the game (it doesn't run on a laptop). I'm near Musgrave.
However, if that doesn't work for other people then I guess I can lug the PC and screen to Mugg and Bean :P

Regarding time, that isn't decided either. Shout what works. Lunch could be nice, and then ties up with Pizza.

Kaboom Arena will not be ready for today but I am bringing Riders of Asgard with. @karl182 is a co-founder of Gobbo Games and is our main sound artist ... so we gonna do this. 8-}
